THE KEY IDEA

Choose based on what your customer needs to do: browse, request information or complete a purchase.

Three journeys with different needs

A QR code is an entry point. It can open a menu, service page or store. The important decision is what happens after scanning it.

If the customer only needs to view an offering, a menu or catalog may be enough. If they need to choose variants, calculate shipping and pay, the journey requires more rules and an e-commerce integration.

Alternative Customer action Information you need to maintain
Digital menu Browse food, drinks and options Prices, descriptions and availability
Catalog Explore products or services and request information Features, variants and contact method
Online store Create an order and complete checkout Stock, shipping, payment and order statuses

Presenting services separately from food helps each customer see relevant information. A service booking needs duration and availability; a menu needs easy-to-browse categories and products.

What to resolve before selling online

Define who confirms stock, how orders are delivered and what information buyers need. If inventory is also used at a physical store, agree on how to prevent two channels from offering the same last unit.

Payments require a business account with the chosen provider. Fees and terms are reviewed with that provider while preparing the project. A demo can simulate a purchase to explain the journey, but does not by itself show that real payments are integrated.

The business policies and data handling appropriate to the project also need preparation. That content should reflect how the business actually operates.

Make browsing easy on mobile

A menu should load quickly and show readable prices without zooming. Filters help when there are many options, but basic categories should be understandable at first glance.

Use authorized photographs and useful descriptions. If a product has variants or conditions, they should be clear before confirmation. A button should explain whether it opens an inquiry, adds to the cart or sends a request.

Keeping it updated is part of selling

Agree on who changes prices and availability. A printed QR code can keep its URL while content changes, provided the domain and path keep working. That is why using a business-owned address and checking codes before printing materials is worthwhile.
